- 600gsalmon fillet- de-boned
- 50gunsalted butter- melted
- 3clovegarlic- minced
- 1wholelemon- zested
- 15gfresh parsley- finely chopped

Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan / 400°F). Line a baking dish with foil or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Make the lemon garlic butter
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon zest, and juice of the whole lemon. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper and stir to combine.
- 3
Prepare and coat the salmon
Pat the salmon dry with paper towels — this helps the butter sauce cling and promotes even cooking. Place it skin-side down in the prepared baking dish, then pour the lemon garlic butter evenly over the top.

Bake the salmon
Bake for 15–18 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillet. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork at its thickest point but still looks slightly translucent in the very centre — it will finish cooking as it rests. Avoid overbaking to keep it moist and tender.

Rest, garnish, and serve
Remove from the oven and rest for 2–3 minutes. Scatter the chopped parsley over the top and spoon the buttery pan juices over the salmon before serving.
